Ha Za Vu Zu operates at the intersection between experimental music and visual art, between agit--
prop and the organization of offbeat evenings. Instigating the spontaneous formation of new modes of collaboration, collective action, and experience, their humorous performances and installations offer opportunities to imagine new social orders and alternative modes of political engagement. Combining elements of cabaret, TV shows, and concerts, between stamp and mars is shaped around themes of transitivity and border experiences, as well as ideas regarding utopia and their reflection in everyday life. The costumes and props for the performance, such as the Double Jumper, stem in parts from their collaboration with the Free Kazova Textile Cooperative that was founded in the aftermath of the 2013 Gezi Park resistance movement and labor struggles in Istanbul. The workers of the textile factory and their allies occupied Kazova under the motto “Jumpers without Masters” and since then participate in the international freedom struggle and in solidarist economy organizations. A Free Kazova Pop-Up Store is part of the exhibition offering the possibility to support the cooperative and buy their jumpers and t-shirts
